Traveling with the Stars: Celebrity Airstreamers

If there’s anyone who is familiar with the need to feel at home on the road, it’s those whose careers involve travel. Check out these celebrity Airstream owners:

1. Matthew McConaughey’s love of Airstream began with a 2004 International CCD he named “the Canoe” and has sparked a lifelong passion for the brand. He now owns a handful of Airstreams, which he has labeled “the fleet”, including an Ocean Breeze model, a refurbished 1958 classic, and a 2010 “Timeless” version, which has been fully customized to the star’s tastes. McConaughey enjoys Airstreams so much he managed his production company out of “the Canoe” for two years, lived in it for four, and envisions one day owning his own Airstream hotel.

2. Despite Miranda Lambert dreaming of another life in her song “Airstream Song,” “Sometimes I wish I lived in Airstream, homemade curtains; Lived just like a gypsy”, she does in fact own an Airstream. Lambert’s 1995 Flying Cloud “Wanda the Wanderer” sports a remodeled vintage-country inspired interior that dreams are made of.

3. Although his RVing days are behind him, Tom Hanks spent some of the earlier portions of his career in a 1992 Airstream Model 34 Limited Excella Travel Trailer. Hanks took his Excella along with him to over 18 movie sets between the 1990s and 2010s, including Forrest Gump and Sleepless in Seattle.

4. Patrick Dempsey not only resided in an Airstream International Sterling while on set for hit drama Grey’s Anatomy but also owns a second that is used as a guest house at his scenic home in Malibu.

5. Back in the day, Brad Pitt owned a vintage Airstream 345 model nicknamed the “The Love Sub”. Reportedly, the name stemmed from the fact that he’d camp in it after his split with Jennifer Aniston.
